Pahlish The Cake is a Lie Swatches and Review

Press Sample

This month has been Portal month over at Pahlish!  The Cake is a Lie collection consists of 5 polishes, all jellies with various mixtures of holo, flakes, and some glitter.  These are currently available at Pahlish.com as well as their Portal inspired January Duo.

Pahlish Intelligence Dampening Sphere.  This has a cobalt blue jelly base with holo flecks, purple ultra chrome flakes, as well as violet shimmer.  The formula is easy to work with.  The holo is scattered and subtle but very pretty.  I love the holo flecks I've been seeing lately!

This is 2 coats.

Pahlish Married (to Science!).  The jelly base on this one is a deep magenta color.  It's filled with holo flecks, hot pink flakes and a scattering of iridescent orange glitter.  The formula is easy to work with.  This one is slightly more sheer than the others but still very buildable.

This is 3 coats.

Pahlish Dangerous Mute Lunatic.  This is a teal jelly base with gold flakes, holo flecks, and green iridescent glitter.  It's one of my favorites from the collection, but I'm biased when it comes to anything green.  Just like the others, formula is perfect.

Pahlish Combustible Lemon II.  This is a bright burnt orange jelly base with cold and copper ultrachrome flakes, holo flecks and violetflecks.  This ended up being my favorite of the collection and that's saying something because orange isn't normally my color of choice.  It's absolutely gorgeous!  This one like Married (to Science!) is a bit more sheer than the others, but it it allows it to show off all those flakes perfectly!

This is 3 coats.

Pahlish Maybe Black Mesa.  This is a blackened violet jelly that leans heavily blue.  It has purple and violet flakes as well as holo micro flakes.

As always Shannon did an amazing job with these!  My personal favorite is Combustible Lemon II, but you can't go wrong with any of these (or all of them).  Be sure to get your before they're gone and as always check Pahlish out at the following spots (there's always a Facebook giveaway going on)!
